Career Discovery · Discover
Start with you.
Notice what you enjoy, what you’re good at and what matters to you. Then turn it into directions worth exploring and a plan you can act on.
Welcome back. You have answers saved on this device.
Clearing removes the copy on this device, for shared or school computers. It does not delete CPI’s copy.
How it works
Six steps, at your own pace.
You can stop after any section and pick up again on the same device.
Free, no password. If you are 12 to 17, a parent or guardian confirms first.
Take the self-assessment
About 20–25 minutes. One section per screen. No right answers.
Get your Discovery Profile
Your interests, strengths, values and directions worth investigating, explained in plain English.
Review and correct it
Mark what fits and what doesn’t. Your view is saved alongside ours.
Explore your directions
Check what the work involves and how people get in, using the Career Education Library.
Build your roadmap
Set 1–3 priorities and dated actions, then download it as a PDF.
What it looks at
Six interest themes.
Each theme gets three readings: how much you enjoy it, how capable you feel, and what experience or feedback you have. Technology careers draw on several themes, so they aren't a separate one.
Make
Making & Fixing
Hands-on work with tools, machines, materials, plants or animals.
Investigate
Investigating & Solving
Understanding how things work, analysing, researching.
Create
Creating & Expressing
Designing, writing, performing, making original work.
Help
Helping & Teaching
Supporting, caring for, teaching or advising people.
Lead
Leading & Enterprising
Persuading, organising people, selling, starting things.
Organise
Organising & Managing Detail
Order, accuracy, records, systems and numbers.
What your profile is not. It is not a test result, a diagnosis or a prediction. Your location, gender, school and circumstances never raise or lower any score. Directions are career families to investigate, never a single job title.
Questions
Before you start.
Is this a test?
No. There are no right or wrong answers and no pass mark. The profile reflects your answers today and does not tell you which career to choose.
How does the profile get made?
By fixed rules that CPI owns and can explain line by line. There is no AI and no hidden score. Your own ideas always appear in your profile, whatever your other answers say.
Who sees my answers?
Your answers, profile and roadmap are saved to CPI so a coach can follow up and the programme can improve. Only authorised CPI staff can see them. See our Privacy Policy.
Can I do it on paper?
Yes. The printable questionnaire has exactly the same questions, so a facilitator can work from either.
What if I am under 12?
Online sign-up is for ages 12 and over. Younger children can take part through their school or with a parent at an in-person session.
