About CPI
What is Career Pathways Initiative?
A career-development initiative that helps young Nigerians make better-informed career decisions through self-discovery, career education, skills development, coaching and real-world experience.
Who can take part?
Secondary school students (SS1–SS3), undergraduates, fresh graduates and NYSC members, and young professionals in their first 1–3 years of work. The online self-assessment is open to anyone aged 12 and over.
Is it free?
Yes. The pilot is free for young people, schools and website users.
Is it online or in person?
Mostly in person, at schools, campuses and community venues. The website adds the online self-assessment, the Career Education Library and the Research Hub.
Do I need a smartphone?
No. The core programme uses printed worksheets and facilitated sessions. Lack of a phone or data will never be the reason you are left out.
Is CPI a recruitment agency?
No. CPI is a career-development initiative. We help you prepare and gain exposure; we do not place people in jobs.
FAQs
Taking part
How do I join?
Choose your sign-up form on the sign-up page. It takes a few minutes and needs no password.
Does CPI choose a career for me?
No. CPI does not choose careers for participants. It helps you develop the information, self-awareness, skills and exposure to make better-informed decisions yourself.
Does CPI guarantee a job?
No. CPI strengthens your preparation, decisions, skills and exposure, but it does not guarantee employment, income or scholarships.
Do I need to know my career direction before joining?
No. Not knowing is one of the reasons CPI exists.
Do you provide internships?
Where suitable partner opportunities exist and you are ready for them. Every placement is supervised, has learning goals and is monitored by CPI.
FAQs
The self-assessment
Is the self-assessment a test?
No. It is a reflection tool. There are no right or wrong answers, and it never tells you there is only one career for you.
Why does CPI keep my assessment answers?
So a coach can follow up with you, so we can track your progress, and so we can improve the programme. Your answers are seen only by authorised CPI staff. See our Privacy Policy.
What happens to my answers?
They are saved to CPI's secure records after you sign up and consent. You can ask for a copy, a correction or deletion at any time through Contact.
I'm under 18. What do my parents need to do?
A parent or guardian confirms your sign-up with a one-time code sent to their phone or WhatsApp. Nothing is saved until they confirm. Under-12s take part through their school or a parent instead.
Can I sign up my child?
Yes. Use the parent and guardian form. You can add up to five children.
